Village of Mishicot COVID-19 Update: Village Office is Closed

Governor Evers has declared a Public Health Emergency in the State of Wisconsin.  COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving situation so in the best interest of the Public Health and Safety of the Village of Mishicot is implementing a few changes to ensure the public health of our residence.

April 7th Spring Primary Election and Presidential Preference Primary Voting

The village is being as proactive as possible to insure that we can have a safe election and that everyone will have an opportunity to vote.  If you need to register to vote for upcoming election you may do so online at the deadline to register online is Wednesday March 18, 2020.  After that time you will have to call the village office to send you a voter registration or make an appointment to come into the village hall to fill out a voter registration.  You will need to provide picture of id and proof of address if it is not current on your driver’s license with a utility bill, credit card bill, and or a bank statement.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission is HIGHLY encouraging voters to vote absentee for the April 7, 2020 election.  Information can be found on  Deadline to request an absentee ballot is Thursday April 2 at 5:00p.m..

On My Vote there is a three –step process that starts with putting in your name and date of birth.  Then you verify your address and then you need to upload a picture of your driver’s license.   If you do not already have a photo id on file you can upload a copy.  Mobile phone users can take a picture of driver’s license and upload it.

Voters can also request absentee ballots by emailing, mailing, or faxing their Name, Address, and Date of Birth to the clerk’s office.  These requests must be accompanied with a copy of your photo id.  Voter’s that are indefinitely confined meaning they have difficulty getting to the polls because of age, illness, infirmity, or disability are not required to provide photo ID.

We are still working with the Wisconsin Elections Commission to develop a plan that will outline precautions to be taken on Election Day and we will release that information as soon as possible

Village Office and Social Distancing

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is recommending social distancing to limit contact with others to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Therefore, the Village of Mishicot is requesting residents to adhere to the following practices.

     *Please Utilize the Drop Box at the Village Office to pay for your utility bill, submit any forms, obtain a dog license, paperwork, etc. Please we are asking that no cash only checks to be put in drop box.  If you would like a receipt for any reason, please submit self-addressed envelope so it can be mailed to you.

     *If you are submitting your payment for dog license please drop off in drop box, please include a copy of their Rabies certificate along with payment.  You can also email your dog’s rabies certificate.

     *Please utilize the online payment tab on the webpage for paying your utilities. All convenience fees are being waived till further notice.
